Main Sessions & Workshop
ERIN DAVIS, Keynote Speaker – Among the Sequoias
After a scary health crisis forced Erin Davis to face her patterns of burnout and fatigue, God used Psalm 92 to call her to pursue a life of thriving. The Psalmist declares, “The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon” (v. 12). During our time together, Erin will walk us through Psalm 92 as a roadmap to thriving through deeper intimacy with Jesus. We will accept Scripture’s call to stop living in survival mode and flourish for the sake of the gospel. Three main sessions include:
Session 1: Where Are the Flourishers? (Ps. 92:12 and 1-4)
God’s Word makes a bold statement: “The righteous flourish” (Psalm 92:12). This is not a pie-in-the-sky, someday hope, but a possible reality right now. We don’t have to strive our way to glory or white-knuckle our way into God’s presence. The path to flourishing is as simple as it is challenging. Resist the gravitational pull toward survival mode and learn to flourish by fixing your eyes on Jesus.
Session 2: Bring Back the Gladness (Ps. 92:8-11)
The Bible contrasts two kinds of flourishing: the kind offered by the world, which is destined to burn up, and the kind offered by God, which will last forever. Discover how to thrive even in the midst of suffering and let the Bible reorient your heart toward life-giving gratitude.
Session 3: What Flourishing Means to a Flailing World
Let’s explore why a commitment to flourishing goes beyond our personal well-being and works as an effective strategy to win the lost and impact the next generation.
MERIBETH SCHIERBEEK, Workshop Leader – Women Who Labor Side by Side
What does laboring side by side look like for women whose eyes are fixed on the hope of Christ? In this one-hour workshop on Saturday morning, we will explore the lives of two women in the Bible and consider what it means to labor faithfully with our gaze set firmly on Christ.
Meribeth is a devoted wife, an empty-nest mom, and a continually learning grandmother to five (and growing). She has received training from CCEF in biblical counseling, and discipleship has become a way of life—around her kitchen table, with friends, within her local church, and throughout the broader Church. She and her husband are members of Trinity PCA, where she delights in opening her home in hospitality. These days, she is learning to enjoy God and give Him glory in all that comes her way.
