Main Sessions & Workshop
MAIN SPEAKER – Unquenchable Faith, Carol Kent
Kent’s life was turned upside-down when her only child, Jason Paul Kent, a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, was arrested for murder, convicted, and sentenced to life in prison. From anger, grief, and shame to forgiveness and faith, Kent weaves her highly personal, heartbreaking, and uplifting story into this year’s Cornerstone Women’s Conference. Three main sessions Carol will present are:
Session 1: The Firestorm: Making Hope-filled Choices
Kent addresses the inevitable challenges our faith experiences in times of trial. Sometimes God delivers us from the heat of the storm, and sometimes He doesn’t, regardless, we can choose unwavering faith.
Session 2: Burning Bushes
This session addresses those “marker moments” in our lives when we are confronted with the power of God when we need it most, and when we least expect it.
Session 3: Growing a Faith that Impacts Others
Kent challenges us to be vulnerable with God and with each other as we live for something that will outlast our lives. Isaiah 41:10 is the key verse in this session emphasizing turning fear into faith.
SATURDAY WORKSHOP – Rev. Bob Van Manen
As has become customary, Rev. Bob Van Manen will lead a workshop for all attendees on Saturday morning, following Session 2. In this workshop, attendees will learn truths about a lesser-known woman in the Bible who is strong in faith and character.
